【Structure】 V／A（普通形）／N ＋ に違いない 【Meaning】 Expresses the speaker's confident judgment based on evidence. 【Examples】 ・電気でんきがついている。誰だれか家いえにいるに違いない。 　→ The light is on. Someone must be home. ・あんなに練習れんしゅうしたのだから、合格ごうかくするに違いない。 　→ After practicing that much, he must surely pass.

【Structure】 V／A（普通形）＋ はずだ　N ＋ のはずだ 【Meaning】 Expresses a logical expectation based on objective grounds: it should be so. 【Examples】 ・彼かれは昨日きのう出発しゅっぱつしたから、もう着ついているはずだ。 　→ He left yesterday, so he should already have arrived. ・この計算けいさんは正ただしいはずだ。 　→ This calculation should be correct.
